Business Development
- Identify opportunities that will increase company's footprint in core business interests and follows up with respective Points of Contact (PoCs) about opportunities that will be posted or are in “pre-solicitation.”
- Manage responses to market research, requests for information, and sources sought requests.
- Complete in-depth market research reports for each potential bid opportunity utilizing Third-Party software and government websites.
- Learn current business development processes and provides recommendation on improvements.
- Conducts meetings with stakeholders regarding opportunities. Logs meeting minutes.
- Coordinates RSVPs to site visits and other business development events such as Industry Days.
- Second Option for attending site visits and events both locally and nationwide.
- Works with Managing Director and Operations Manager to develop long-term strategies with preferred vendors, such as teaming agreements, Mentor-Protégé agreements, and Joint-Ventures.
- Reach out to potential subcontractors to secure commitment on current solicitations.
- Review solicitations with Operations Manager to ensure company and respective subcontractors meet or exceeds contract requirements.
- Completes pricing analysis for proposals and receives final approval from the Managing Director.
- Completes additional reviews and other tasks to ensure successful submission of bid proposals.
- Prepare in NetSuite estimates and sales orders for service contracts and projects.
- Log information on successful and unsuccessful proposals to be used as “Lessons Learned.”
- Assist Managing Director and Operations Manager in development of business plan for specified business lines/areas of operation.
- Develop strategies for business development in areas company not currently performing in.
- Reach out to potential prime contractors for subcontracting opportunities for company.
- Reach out to current vendors, subcontractors, and customers to cultivate new Prime opportunities.
- Research potential subcontractors, clients, and agencies we can do business with in the future, and records their information in the database, reporting need-to-know information immediately.
- Assists Managing Director & Operations Manager in creating marketing campaigns designed to effectively define and reach target audiences.
- Performs additional duties that present themselves from time to time.
- Offers creative solutions when faced with adversity.
- Completes professional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to pass a background check
- A strong team-player with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lift over 25 lbs.
