Human Resources Director
Location: Rockford, Illinois
Pay: $105k to $145k DOE
Position Overview:
The Human Resources Director is responsible for the overall management, development, and strategic direction of the company’s HR functions. This role plays a critical part in shaping personnel policies, workforce planning, and employee engagement to align with company goals and Group-level HR policies.
The HR Director will ensure compliance with labor laws, foster a positive workplace culture, and drive talent acquisition, employee development, and compensation strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Leadership
- Develop and implement strategic HR policies in collaboration with the CEO and Group HR leadership.
- Ensure HR practices support workforce optimization, cost control, and employee development.
- Drive organizational analysis, workforce planning, and HR reporting to support decision-making.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Oversee labor relations, ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws regarding wages, hours, benefits, and workplace safety.
- Manage employee relations, disciplinary actions, and terminations in accordance with company policies.
- Support a positive workplace culture by actively addressing employee concerns and fostering engagement.
Talent Acquisition & Development
- Lead recruitment, selection, and onboarding to attract top talent.
- Develop and oversee the company’s training programs in alignment with Group Learning policies.
- Conduct employee satisfaction assessments and implement initiatives for continuous improvement.
Compensation & Benefits
- Define and oversee compensation policies and benefits programs in collaboration with the CEO and Group HR leadership.
- Ensure fair and competitive salary structures to attract and retain talent.
Health, Safety & Workforce Well-being
- Collaborate with the Safety Committee to implement and monitor workplace safety plans.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other safety protocols.
HR Team Leadership
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the HR Generalist and Recruitment Specialist.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing HR team that delivers business-aligned HR solutions.
Qualifications & Competencies:
Skills & Expertise
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships and effectively listen to employees’ needs.
- Expertise in employment law, labor relations, and compliance.
- Strong understanding of talent acquisition, performance management, and compensation strategies.
- Knowledge of training and instructional design methodologies.
- Proficiency in HR systems (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors) and Microsoft Office.
- Fluent English required; Italian language proficiency is a plus.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience in a senior HR leadership role, preferably in manufacturing or industrial sectors.
Salary : $105,000 - $145,000
