Installation Project Manager - Machine Tools
Location: Rockford, IL
Compensation: $62,000 - $102,000 (based on experience)
Are you an experienced leader with a passion for complex machine installations and customer satisfaction? We have a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an Installation Manager to join a dynamic team and play a critical role in coordinating machine installations at customer facilities.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless installation of cutting-edge machines, collaborating with diverse teams, and maintaining strong communication with customers to guarantee high-quality results. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of service/assembly personnel during each installation, ensuring all project milestones are met on time.
- Schedule and oversee installations, working closely with Project Managers to ensure adherence to contract specifications, policies, and procedures.
- Negotiate with local contractors for rigging equipment, alignment tools, and other necessary installation resources.
- Monitor safety standards and ensure all installations are carried out with the highest level of safety and compliance.
- Communicate frequently with customers to keep them informed about installation progress, addressing any concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Service, Sales, and Assembly, to ensure that each machine installation aligns with customer expectations.
- Secure formal sign-off and acceptance for each completed installation.
- Manage travel to customer facilities, as needed, to oversee installations and maintain customer relations.
- Continuously update management on installation progress, escalating any significant issues that may arise.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Technical Knowledge: Strong background in machine tool assembly, troubleshooting, mechanical alignments, bearings, gears, ball screws, machine geometry, PLC/NC troubleshooting, and heavy material handling.
- Systems Expertise: Experience with hydraulic, lubrication, pressure lines, electrical components, coolant, and filtration systems.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage complex projects, including the preparation of business documents and managing multiple variables in dynamic environments.
- Problem Solving: Ability to interpret technical instructions and solve practical problems as they arise.
- Educational Background: High school diploma required; technical degree preferred.
- Experience: 5 years of experience in machine tools or a related field.
- Travel: Must be willing to travel periodically to customer facilities.
- Other Requirements: Valid U.S. passport and driver’s license.
