Mechanical CAD Drafter
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Salary: $60,000 - $70,000
We are seeking a Mechanical CAD Drafter with expertise in SolidWorks to support engineering projects in the aerospace and defense sector. This role involves creating and updating detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and engineering documentation while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and modify 3D models and detailed drawings in SolidWorks
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.5 standards
- Perform tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure design accuracy
- Maintain and manage a secure component library
- Support projects ranging from UAVs to wide-body aircraft systems
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to support design and manufacturing objectives
- Assist with material and equipment sourcing based on design specifications
Qualifications:
- 3 years of SolidWorks CAD experience (5 years preferred)
- Proficiency in 3D modeling, engineering drawings, and GD&T
- Familiarity with ASME Y14.5m-2009 or Y14.5m-2018 standards
- Experience in a fast-paced engineering or manufacturing environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Security clearance preferred but not required (background check conducted)
