Job Overview :
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with SolidWorks expertise to join our engineering team in Colorado Springs. This role will play a critical part in configuration management, 3D modeling, and prototype development, supporting global SATCOM communications and SAR aircraft operations. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of experience, proficiency in SolidWorks PDM, and a strong understanding of GD&T and precision tolerances.
This is a hands-on, mission-critical role offering long-term growth toward a Configuration Manager position. Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply, especially those with RF, SATCOM, or military / aerospace experience.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and manage 2D detail drawings and 3D part & assembly models using SolidWorks.
- Perform simulation analysis (thermal, vibration, stress, strain) using SolidWorks Pro Work Premium.
- Utilize SolidWorks PDM for product data management and configuration control.
- Ensure configuration management of a secure vault for engineering drawings in the U.S.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize mechanical designs.
- Assist in prototype development and product testing.
- Troubleshoot and revise existing designs based on testing and customer feedback.
- Support ISR CONUS & OCONUS missions through engineering and technical design.
- Maintain detailed documentation of design processes and revisions.

Education :
Bachelor’s Degree in :Mechanical Engineering (BSME)Mechanical Engineering Technology (BSMET)Electro-Mechanical Technology (BSEMT)Aerospace Engineering (BSAE)Experience :
10 years of experience in SolidWorks for :3D modeling, CAD, and product configuration.GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) for precision tolerances.Experience with SolidWorks PDM (Product Data Management) and configuration control is a must.Experience in SATCOM, RF, or aerospace industries is a strong plus.Preferred Skills & Competencies :
Expertise in GD&T and precision mechanical tolerancing.Strong understanding of RF, SATCOM, and airborne ISR communication systems.Experience working with U.S. military, aerospace, or defense-related projects.Simulation experience (thermal, vibration, stress, strain) using SolidWorks Pro Work Premium.Ability to manage engineering documentation and vault configuration for secure systems.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in an engineering environment.Strong communication and teamwork abilities.Work Environment & Additional Details :
