Senior Network Technician – Remote (Near Tampa/Ft Bragg/or Pentagon)
Location: Remote with on-site requirements (Must be located near major airport)
Salary: $120,000 - $130,000
Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI (Polygraph preferred)
Travel: up to 2x per month for approximately one week (locations stateside, Germany, Hawaii, and other major sites)

Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Network Technician to serve as the second-in-command for network operations. This role requires a mid-level professional with prior experience working in secure environments. The selected candidate will work both remotely and on-site, supporting classified networks and infrastructure while serving as the first line of defense for network issues.
The Senior Network Technician will be responsible for network troubleshooting, hardware/software maintenance, security enforcement, and operational support for multiple locations. This position requires extensive interaction with network engineers, cybersecurity teams, and government stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Level 2 network support, handling break/fix issues, troubleshooting, software installations, and hardware repairs.
- Manage escalated IT/network issues from Level 1 technicians and collaborate with Level 3 engineers for advanced problem resolution.
- Utilize SecureView offsite when working remotely.
- Act as the first line of defense in identifying and resolving network issues, ensuring minimum downtime and operational efficiency.
- Maintain and support routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and other critical network components.
- Perform routine system updates, security patches, and network monitoring to ensure compliance with security protocols.
- Install, configure, and maintain network devices, servers, and IT infrastructure.
- Work closely with leadership to develop and implement network security policies and best practices.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation and system reports.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Active TS/SCI Clearance (Polygraph preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in network support or administration.
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure, security protocols, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Experience working in classified and secure government environments.
- Ability to manage network issues independently, escalating only when necessary.
- Proficiency in working with Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, or similar network systems.
- Knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, and security monitoring tools.
- Experience with SecureView or similar remote access technologies.
- Must be comfortable with frequent travel to major sites (domestic and international).
- Candidates in the Carson, Hood, or major airport areas preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in classified environments; 90% of work is in secure locations.
- Military or defense background is a plus, but not required.
- National Guard/Reserve members should disclose their level of commitment, as travel demands may conflict with drill schedules.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent
- Experience in SOC (Security Operations Center) environments
- Knowledge of military or government IT infrastructure
