Job Description
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to work harmoniously with students and other adults and provide friendly service;work efficiently and effectively at a fast pace; work and communicate in a noisyenvironment; learn and operate basic food service equipment and machinery; followsimple instructions and skill in performance of routine non-technical duties involvingcleanup and serving food. Basic math skills necessary for preparation of recipes, i.e.,measurement, ratio and proportion, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction andcounting ability necessary for inventory. Communication skills necessary for readingand understanding labels and functional and cordial discourse with children andadults. Must agree to wear appropriate safeguards for food area (e.g., hair net, gloves,etc.). Knowledgeable of the importance of sanitation and safety in a quantity foodservice establishmentPhysical Requirements:Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 poundsof force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. - Our uniform is mango colored polo shirts, navy cotton pants (must be hemmed), and closed toed, non-skid shoes (no canvas). We don't expect personnel to purchase these, but they need to wear clothing as close as possible. Jeans are not permitted. Clothes must be in clean and in good condition – no stains, holes.
- No jewelry except for a plain wedding band. No visible piercings including earrings, nose studs/rings, eyebrow studs/rings, lip studs/rings, tongue studs/rings.
- Fingernails no longer that 1/8" past the nail bed. Polished and artificial nails must be covered by gloves.
- We provide hair nets. Facial hair must be covered by a beard net, which is not provided. Employee is responsible for providing their own beard net.
- Visible tattoos are discouraged but allowed if not profane or obscene.
- No cell phones are permitted in the work area.
- No personal belongings in the work area. Some schools have lockers and they would need to provide their own lock.
