JOB OVERVIEW:
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe QA Engineer to join our client, Charles Schwab, for a long-term onsite role. The ideal candidate should have expertise in Mainframe testing, automation, and performance validation in a high-volume, mission-critical environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Mainframe applications.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing on Mainframe systems.
- Automate Mainframe test cases using Selenium, JCL, REXX, or other automation tools.
- Validate batch jobs, COBOL programs, JCL, DB2, and CICS transactions.
- Utilize SQL queries to validate data in DB2, IMS DB, or VSAM.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure test coverage and quality assurance.
- Work with JIRA, ALM, or other test management tools to track defects and ensure timely resolution.
- Implement CI/CD practices for Mainframe testing and work with DevOps tools like Jenkins, Git, and Terraform.
- Ensure compliance with banking and financial industry standards for data security and regulatory requirements.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- 8 years of QA experience, with a strong focus on Mainframe testing.
- Hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS.
- Expertise in test automation for Mainframe applications using Selenium, REXX, or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and database validation (DB2, IMS DB, VSAM).
- Experience in batch job testing and debugging using IBM utilities.
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Proficiency with testing tools like JIRA, HP ALM, Rally, and QTP.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Experience in performance testing for Mainframe applications.
Knowledge of Cloud (AWS/Google Cloud Platform) migration strategies for Mainframe systems.
Familiarity with Test Data Management (TDM) strategies.
Prior experience in the banking, financial, or insurance domains.
