Job Title: Project Technical Lead β Small Molecule
Location: Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid)
Duration: 3 years
Purpose of the Role:
The Small Molecule Technical Lead will oversee the technical direction and execution of the automation control system solution for the Small Molecule facility. This role will involve close collaboration with various stakeholders across the Small Molecule facility Project Team, including the Automation Project Manager, Area Leads, Process Engineers, Tech Services/Manufacturing Science Representatives, Quality Engineers, and Operations. The individual will ensure timely, budget-compliant, and technically robust delivery of the project.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership and ownership for the Small Molecule project automation solution.
- Manage the technical performance and deliverables of the system integrator for the Small Molecule project.
- Partner with the Automation Project Manager to ensure successful project delivery on schedule and within budget.
- Collaborate with Program technical offices to ensure alignment of automation solutions with program automation philosophy and standards.
- Work with Digital/MES workstream counterparts to integrate automation and digital solutions seamlessly.
- Participate actively in P&ID and control strategy reviews to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Review and approve functional requirements and specifications for automation-related deliverables.
Role Requirements:
Education: BS in Engineering or equivalent experience
Experience:
10 years of working experience in automation within the pharmaceutical industry (preferably in API/bulk manufacturing)
7 years of hands-on experience with DeltaV Batch DCS systems
Previous experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs is a plus
Proven track record of delivering Large Pharmaceutical Automation Projects/Programs
Experience in Small Molecule Manufacturing projects or site experience
Skills:

Strong understanding of GMPs, regulatory requirements, and computer system validation principles
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with knowledge of project management software tools
