Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Administrative Assistant to support our team in various administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in accounting and bookkeeping, with a focus on governmental accounting practices. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our office and will involve managing accounts receivable, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with various clerical duties.
Duties
- Perform daily administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and document management.
- Managing employee records, including training and certification records.
- Manage accounts receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and payment processing.
- Assisting project managers with various tasks, including but not limited to, ordering materials, setting schedules, contacting vendors, arranging company travel, etc.
- Utilize accounting software for tracking financial transactions and generating reports.
- Assist in double entry bookkeeping to maintain accurate financial records.
- Process debits and credits accurately while adhering to governmental accounting standards.
- Conduct 10 key typing for data entry tasks to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Support the public accounting team with clerical tasks as needed, including preparing financial statements and reports.
- Maintain organized records of all financial documents and correspondence.
- Additional duties as required, to be discussed upon interview.
Skills
- Proficiency in governmental accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, and Excel required.
- Familiarity with Quickbooks software strongly recommended
- Strong 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry.
- Knowledge of debits, credits, and basic accounting concepts.
- Experience with accounting software, particularly Quickbooks or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with double entry bookkeeping methods.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
