Travel Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
The Travel Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) plays a crucial role in providing essential physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. This involves restoring function and preventing disability by educating patients, evaluating their responses during treatment, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities1. Administer Medically Prescribed Physical Therapy: The PTA will administer medically prescribed physical therapy to restore function and prevent disability following an injury or loss of a body part under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
2. Patient Education: The PTA will educate patients, other health professionals, and family members regarding physical therapy on an on-going basis.
3. Observing and Evaluating Patient Responses: The PTA will observe and evaluate patient responses during treatment, document and report findings to Physical Therapist.
4. Following Hospital Safety Rules: The PTA will follow hospital safety rules and procedures.
Requirements:
- A valid PTA license and BLS certification are required.
- One to three years' experience as a PTA is preferred.
