Travel Respiratory Therapist (CRT) Job Description
A Certified Respiratory Therapist delivers essential respiratory interventions and care for patients with acute respiratory issues as well as routine support for chronic respiratory disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer respiratory treatments, monitor equipment, and educate patients and families on proper usage of respiratory therapies and devices.
- Assist in implementing and adjusting patient treatment plans under the guidance of physicians or RRTs.
- Examine and interview patients with breathing and/or cardiopulmonary disorders.
- Perform diagnostics tests, such as measuring lung capacity or collecting blood/sputum samples.
Requirements:
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the NBRC.
- Valid respiratory therapy license in compliance with state regulations.
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
- One year of recent experience as a Certified Respiratory Therapist.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ACLS or PALS Certification (AHA/ARC).
Essential Skills:
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
- The ability to read, write, & communicate in the English language.
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills.
