- One to three years experience as a Speech Language Pathologist is preferred
- Other certifications may be required for this position
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills are essential. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions are also required. PC skills are necessary. Physical Abilities include remaining in a stationary position, moving about, and pushing/pulling equipment (50-100lbs). The following are some key job duties:
- Communicate and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide and coordinate patient care with other healthcare team members.
- Monitor patients' responses to interventions and report outcomes.
- Administer medications as ordered with appropriate documentation.
- Monitor and evaluate patients before, during, and post procedure depending on the unit.
- Share on-call responsibilities with a 30-minute response time if required.
- Maintain cleanliness of rooms and adequate stock of supplies.
- Transport patients as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Interpersonal Skills - effective interaction with various personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professional appearance.
- Technical/Motor Skills - ability to grasp, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling, and moving about when assisting with procedures or using department equipment.
- Mental Requirements - coping with frequent contact with the general public, meeting deadlines under pressure, and working under close supervision occasionally.
- Sensory - visual acuity and effective communication.
Speech-language pathology experience is essential. A Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), a valid SLP license in the state where they will be practicing, and BLS certification are also required.
