Fusion Recovery is a specialty medical practice providing outpatient opiate and alcohol addiction treatment services. Fusion Recovery’s care model includes medical care, counseling, comprehensive toxicology testing, case management, and medical management of psychiatric medications. The Medical Assistant is a critical member of the healthcare team in an outpatient treatment and recovery center. This role supports the delivery of high-quality care to patients by assisting with physical assessments, managing medical records, and providing direct support to providers, nurses, and clients. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping patients in their recovery journey and be skilled in clinical and administrative tasks.
Description :
This is a full-time position requiring a 40-hour / week commitment with excellent compensation. The candidate must be able to work early morning hours from 6 : 00 AM to 2 : 30 PM, Monday through Friday.
Key Essential Functions :
- Client Physical Assessments and Clinical Support
- Coordinate and manage annual physical assessments for established clients in Opioid Treatment Programs (OTP) and Chemical Dependency Outpatient Programs (CDOP).
- Assist the Registered Nurse with incoming clients, including obtaining :
- Electrocardiograms (EKGs)
- Laboratory tests (Phlebotomy)
- Vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, and weight)
- Patient Preparation and Provider Support
- Prepare patients for appointments by :
- Taking and recording vital signs.
- Collecting and documenting a brief patient history.
- Ensuring exam rooms are properly equipped and sanitized.
- Assist providers during client evaluations and procedures as needed.
- Administrative Assistance
- Manage the prescription phone line by addressing client needs, clarifying provider instructions, and processing medication refill requests.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards and confidentiality requirements.
- Schedule and coordinate follow-up appointments, tests, and referrals as directed by providers.
- Communication and Collaboration
- Act as a liaison between patients, nurses, and providers to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Provide excellent customer service and support to clients, addressing their concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure compliance with treatment protocols and center policies.
