Job Summary:
The Plant Processor is responsible for maintaining the operational efficiency of the plant. They are tasked with ensuring that all equipment is functioning correctly, that health and safety regulations are adhered to, and that the plant's output meets the required standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections that encompass checking the functionality of pumps, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls to ensure all systems are operating correctly and safely.
- Oversee the entire workflow associated with receiving, processing, and dispatching materials, ensuring each step adheres to established standards and protocols.
- Regularly climb in and out of the sludge box to execute cleaning procedures between batch processes, ensuring optimal performance and hygiene.
- Utilize hand controls to operate pumps and hoses effectively, facilitating the movement and management of materials as required.
- Use both pump hoses and water hoses to extract grease from holding tanks and other commercial tanks. Ensure thorough cleaning and rinsing of tanks to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
- Uphold the safety and cleanliness of the plant by adhering strictly to organizational policies, procedures, and state and local regulations governing operations and driving.
- Perform routine cleaning of the sludge box interior to uphold operational hygiene standards.
- Ensure that all administrative paperwork is completed and submitted within designated timeframes to maintain accurate records and compliance.
- Systematically wash both the exterior and interior of the plant on a bi-weekly basis, contributing to a clean and professional work environment.
- Be prepared to undertake any additional responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to team needs.
- Attention to detail and dedication to maintaining high operational standards will be paramount in ensuring the smooth functioning of our plant.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Technical understanding of the operation, control, and maintenance of equipment in a processing plant.
- Ability to monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure that the equipment and processes are operating correctly.
- Mathematical skills to understand and use the metrics, measurements, and calculations necessary in plant operations.
- Problem-solving skills to quickly identify issues, troubleshoot, and implement solutions to minimize downtime and maintain optimal plant performance.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and other departments.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a safe working environment.
- Basic computer skills for entering data, documenting processes and tracking production statistics.
- Ability to work well under pressure and make critical decisions during emergencies or breakdowns.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Preferred water treatment certification / license - Class D
- Proven work experience in operations facility or similar role is a plus.
- Knowledge of and experience with industrial equipment and machinery.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to focus on multiple tasks.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift heavy materials as needed.
- Ability to handle strong odors, fumes and airborne particles.
- Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced industrial setting.
