We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Environmental Inspection Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting on-site inspections of construction projects to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and project specifications. This position requires strong analytical skills, field experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, project managers, and contractors.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Environmental Inspection Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting on-site inspections of construction projects to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and project specifications. This position requires strong analytical skills, field experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, project managers, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of construction projects to ensure compliance with environmental specifications.
- Document and report any deviations from environmental project plans and specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to address and resolve environmental and health & safety-related issues.
- Keep accurate and detailed records of soil management, environmental activities, findings, and corrective actions taken.
- Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams on environmental-related issues and questions.
- Collect soil and water samples during investigations, disposal, or discharge requirements, and/or for compliance purposes.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Associate degree in Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental Science required; bachelor’s degree is a plus.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in construction or environmental fields; previous experience working directly with construction contractors.
- Ability to interpret project plans and specifications.
- Subsurface investigation experience is a plus.
- Basic GIS experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of environmental topics and compliance requirements.
- Willingness to work flexible and/or early schedules and during inclement weather.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER, 10-hour Construction OSHA, and NICET certification preferred.
