The Truck Route Manager is responsible for overseeing report preparation and enforcement of overload truck permit restrictions on public infrastructure to preserve public bridge and culvert service life.
This role requires the coordination of multiple resources, including personnel, fleet management, and logistics, to ensure adherence to schedules and project deadlines. This role requires possession of strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience managing projects. This includes but is not limited to proposal and contract development, contract management, documentation production, and emergency coordination if needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage schedules for route evaluations and staff resources.
- Coordinate and manage logistics for overload truck route analysis process to optimize report preparation, and engineering escort services.
- Oversee fleet maintenance scheduling, ensuring vehicles are in optimal condition.
- Prepare and manage proposals and contracts related to truck route analysis.
- Work closely with staff, clients, and approving authorities to maintain open communication and address project requirements and deadlines.
- Manage the creation and/or expansion of the program to other permitting jurisdictions.
- Coordinate emergency response coordination for incidents, if needed, ensuring minimal disruption to scheduled operations.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Five (5) or more years of proven experience in logistics management; ideally within transportation, and/or infrastructure sectors.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate engineering and transportation principles.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with internal teams, contractors, and external agencies.
- Exceptional organizational and scheduling abilities to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Expertise in fleet maintenance coordination and emergency response management.
- Experience in the development of proposals, contracts, and permit documents.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, displaying leadership and initiative in all tasks.
- Ability to proactively solve conflicts.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to adapt to changing circumstances and overcome operational challenges.
