Quality Assurance Engineer (W2) (Onsite Interview)

Job Role: QA Engineer

Location: JP10233 – Fort Worth, Texas – Long-Term Contract

Visa: USC/GC (W2) GCEAD/H4EAD (C2C)

Interview Mode: first virtual, second in-person

 Pay rate: $55-$60/hr on W2

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: This is a 2-year contract with no opportunity to convert at this time. Open to H1B candidates. 3 days/week onsite.

Interviews will be 2 rounds - first virtual, second in person and the candidate will be expected to write pseudo code for some questions. Code and implement automated tests using Jmeter and Cypress. Understanding of GitHub Actions to Automate the Test run workflows. Analyze test results to predict user behavior, identify bugs, and suggest solutions to minimize problems. Functional Testing of API's and UI's.

Description:

This job is a member of the Information Technology Team within the Information Technology Division. Specifically, you would be working and supporting the Cargo business at American Airlines

• Responsible for leveraging cutting-edge technology to solve business problems at American Airlines by participating in all phases of the development process from inception through transition, advocating the agile process and test-driven development, using object-oriented development tools to analyze, model, design, construct, and test reusable objects, and making the codebase better.

What you'll do

• Plans, develops, tests, and documents computer programs, applying knowledge of programming techniques and computer systems

• Evaluate user requests for new or modified programs to determine feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with current system, and computer capabilities

• Formulate a plan outlining the steps required to develop the program using structured analysis and design

• Prepares flowcharts and diagrams to illustrate a sequence of steps the program must follow and to describe logical operations involved

• Captures and creates test scenarios for various software updates complete with test conditions for each scenario.

• Converts project specifications into a sequence of detailed acceptance criteria and logical steps for testing functionality, data completeness, and accuracy, and then automating these test cases and conditions in various tools.

• Reviews and maintains automated test suite and integrates these test cases into a CI/CD pipeline for automated testing.

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training

• 3 years of Automated test engineering experience with tools such as Selenium, Protractor, Cypress, Worksoft, Node.js, etc.

• 3 years of experience using API testing tools

• 3 years of experience with performance testing processes and tools such as Jmeter etc

• 3 years of experience with continuous integration tools like Jenkins, Github, etc

• 3 years of experience in designing and creating automation frameworks using Java, typescript, JavaScript, Selenium, Cypress, JMeter, Appium, Protractor, Jasmine, mocha

• Experience in preparing Test Strategies, Test Plans, and Test Summary Reports for Functional, Integration, Regression, User Acceptance, Stress and Performance, web service testing, and mobile testing.

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• 5 years of experience using API testing tools

• 5 years of experience with performance testing processes and tools such as Jmeter etc

• 5 years of experience with continuous integration tools like Jenkins, Github, etc

• 5 years of experience in designing and creating automation frameworks using Java, typescript, JavaScript, Selenium, Cypress, JMeter, Appium, Protractor, Jasmine, mocha

• Experience in preparing Test Strategies, Test Plans, and Test Summary Reports for Functional, Integration, Regression, User Acceptance, Stress and Performance, web service testing, and mobile testing.

Airline Industry experience

Skills, Licenses & Certifications:

• Demonstrated experience in the following:

o Java, XML, HTML, understanding

o Web Services, such as REST/SOAP, JSON/WSDL/XML

o Selenium, Cypress, Protractor, etc

o Jmeter or equivalent performance testing tools

o Oracle – PL/SQL, DB2 SQL querying skills

o Object Oriented Analysis, Design Patterns, and Frameworks

• Experience with DevOps Toolchain methodologies, including Test Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment

• Experience with Agile project management methodology

• Experience writing quality object-oriented code for new and existing automation framework models like BDD and data-driven frameworks

• Possess a keen desire to learn and expand the depth of knowledge
