Job Description: Diesel Mechanic/Technician
Responsibilities:
- Review work orders, assess vehicle issues, and create repair plans.
- Run diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpret results to offer solutions.
- Inspect and repair vehicle systems, including suspension, steering, and electrical.
- Test drive vehicles to ensure optimal performance post-repair.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment, and brake checks.
- Maintain service records and notify service consultant of any additional services needed.
- Provide clear documentation of repairs, including customer complaint, cause, and solution.
- Ensure vehicles are returned to customers clean and in proper condition.
- Adhere to manufacturer policies for warranty repairs, documentation, and labor operations.
- Complete administrative tasks related to warranty repairs and work orders.
- Stay up-to-date with technical training and OEM educational requirements.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience with Cummins, Detroit, or CAT engines preferred.
- ASE certifications and OEM training are a plus; we’re willing to train.
- Must own a tool cart and set of tools.
- Ability to work as part of a team and maintain professionalism.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain a CDL.
- Ability to pass pre-employment testing, including background checks and drug test.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stoop, bend, climb, crawl, and lift up to 75 lbs.
- Work in varying environmental conditions (hot, cold, wet, noisy).
