Application Engineering Internship Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Engineering student for a rewarding paid internship within our technical sales team. Your internship at FUTEK will provide a hands-on experience in your field of study/area of interest and expose you to careers in the test & measurement industry.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Application Engineering Internship Program is for rising undergraduate Juniors and Seniors. This 10-week internship program provides you with meaningful work that directly impacts your team. Along with application engineering experience, you have the chance to work on an individual project to research and present solutions to tackle customer challenges. During this summer program, you gain exposure to FUTEK technology, sales, and the opportunity to network and learn from engineers within the organization.

This internship will be onsite in our Irvine office. The start date is flexible, but we are targeting June.

• Gain exposure and knowledge of FUTEK product base.
• Solve customer challenges alongside your team.
• Develop a business case and present case as final project at the end of your internship.
• Ability to have hands-on project experience, be creative individually, and collaborate in a team environment.
• Opportunity to learn about potential career paths and tracks beyond your internship.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Able to work up to 35 hours per week for 10 weeks.
• Strong skills: Researching, influencing, organization, adaptability, flexibility, and highly self-motivated.
• Proven leadership and interpersonal skills, teamwork, ability to work in collaborative environment
• Excellent presentation skills
• Must be able to legally live and work in the country for which you're applying, without visa support or sponsorship. (Student visas or visas obtained on your own are not applicable for the program.)

Work Environment

The majority of this job is conducted in an office setting while utilizing standard office machinery. The noise level is considered low.

Physical Demands

Requires regular, predictable, attendance and punctuality.  Requires prolonged periods or sitting and occasional standing.  Requires normal range of hearing and vision. The ability to traverse two flights of stairs.  There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required.   Must be mentally adaptable/flexible in dealing with a variety of people/situations.  Must be able to analyze cause of interpersonal conflict and resolve complex issues in a positive and professional manner.  Emotional stability and personal maturity are important attributes for this position.
