ROLE SUMMARY
This position will be responsible for engineering the move from Citrix Virtual Desktops to Azure Virtual Desktops across a global footprint. Working closely with security and application teams, the individual will engineer the move, create the necessary supporting documentation / runbooks and sunset current Citrix environment.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as lead engineer for the migration from Citrix to Windows Virtual Desktop, following , technical and security standardsProvide technical support for nay complex issues within Citrix Environment.Ensures that End User Computing engineering and support documentation is created and approvedProvides hyper-care and performance tuning support during the projectWorks within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the infrastructureEngineer and support multiple Windows desktop imagesPackage, test and deploy new applications as neededMaintain and expand existing Knowledge BaseCreate new and maintain existing support documents to Maintain high standards in quality in the delivery of End User Computing servicesProvide advice, guidance, and direction to carry out plans and procedures, ensuring schedule attainment, product development process adherence and performanceProvide last tier support for operations and support teams, including root cause analysis and preventative analysisTECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 8 years hands on experience working Citrix Virtual Desktops and engineering, designing, developing, and implementing end user computing solutionsExperience with creating standards and policies, monitoring and upgrading the Citrix environmentExperience with MCS, FAS and knowledge on SAMLExperience with publishing the application and Desktops in Citrix EnvironmentExperience with troubleshooting complex issues in the Citrix EnvironmentWorking knowledge on XenApp, XenDesktop, VMWare Hypervisor, Microsoft Azure, Citrix UPM, FsLogix, GPO, Active Directory and PowerShellKnowledge on Citrix NetScalerExperience developing and testing software packages using Install shield or equivalentSkills managing a VDI environment (Azure Virtual Desktop preferred)Experience in software development life cycle methodologies and current technologyPerformed migration to Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (Citrix, VMware)Minimum of 5 years hands on experience working with Azure Virtual Desktopsindustry best practices in order to manage Windows-based projectsStrong problem solving and root cause analysis skillsWorking knowledge of the ITIL frameworkEDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
B.S. in Computer Science or Engineering5 years' Experience in System Engineer
