Description:
The Senior Network Engineer will provide engineering support to include advanced data and VoIP design, upgrades, troubleshooting, and operational support for the campus and wide area networks. In addition, they will provide extensive experience in design, implementation, and support of complex data and voice networks, provisioning and troubleshooting wide area services, diagnosing and resolving equipment configuration and network problems, monitoring network faults and performance, and designing and implementing cabling infrastructures to support voice and data. This position is based on-site in Washington, D.C.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Applicants must be a US Citizen and able to qualify for a Federal Security Clearance.
1. Experience:
Mandatory Cisco professional certification at the CCIE and Cisco System Instructor certification.
Demonstrated 6 years experience in a similar role designing, implementing, and supporting complex data networks. Extensive hands on experience with Cisco routers and switches, Cisco IOS routing protocols EIGRP, RIP, BGP, IBGP, OSPF, and TCP/IP, IEEE 802.x Ethernet, IPSec, and Wireless networking.
2. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to configure and implement Cisco routers and switches.
Expert knowledge of Netflow and NMS systems.
Ability to configure HSRP and supporting fail‐over and redundancy configurations.
Experience with advanced troubleshooting of complex data networks.
Ability to implement best practices and applicable information security/information assurance policies and principles in the delivery of network services.
Engineering design and implementation for data services.
Experience with SDLC and system engineering technical support.
3. Other Requirements:
Ability to work across teams and functional areas.
Oral and written communication skills must be highly developed.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work flexible shift schedule as needed.
Compensation:
This is a full-time salaried position. Additional benefits and compensation package offered.
