Our client, a leader in the waste-to-energy sector seeks a Plant General Manager to join their growing operation.
This senior leadership role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the entire site.
The Plant General Manager will directly manage all plant departments, including operations, maintenance, engineering, safety, environmental compliance, laboratory, and capital projects.
The successful candidate will be a strong leader with a proven track record in driving operational excellence, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement, and delivering results in a complex manufacturing environment in which complex new chemical processes are being deployed.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to all departments at the site, aligning the site’s activities with corporate goals and long-term strategy.
- Strategy Execution: Translate corporate goals into actionable plans at the site and department level. Communicate such plans and programs to the site and allocate resources and motivate people in a way that ensures successful delivery of objectives.
- People Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of managers and staff across various disciplines. Promote professional growth, succession planning, and employee engagement.
- Operations Management: Ensure the site operates reliably and efficiently to meet production targets and quality standards. Lead the coordination of production schedules and plant performance optimization.
- Maintenance & Reliability: Oversee preventative and predictive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and asset integrity Direct capital projects and plant modifications in collaboration with the engineering team.
- HSE Leadership: Ensure programs are in place to comprehensively manage employee and process safety risks. Ensure emergency response strategies are appropriately formulated, and communication plans are provided.
- Financial Oversight: Work with the Site Controller to develop, manage, and report on plant budgets, cost control initiatives, and financial KPIs. Drive cost savings and operational efficiencies without compromising safety or quality.
- Quality and Laboratory: Ensure quality control systems and laboratory practices meet internal and customer requirements. Collaborate with feedstock supply and product marketing teams to address product or process issues. Build R&D capability in the lab to support ongoing development of the chemical process.
- Community: Actively participate in community outreach activities.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven strategic leadership and team motivation skills. Track record of leading successful cultural change, performance improvement
- 10 years progressive leadership experience in a petrochemical, refining, or process manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 5 years leading large teams.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex operations, including PSM-regulated units.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing multi-million dollar budgets.
- Knowledge of environmental laws and rules and processes for permitting and compliance.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA occupational and process safety standards and EPA regulations.
- Strong working knowledge of Process Safety Management and continuous improvement methods in a refinery or petrochemical manufacturing environment.
- B.S. in engineering a plus.
Salary : $225,000 - $250,000
