The selected candidate will play a key role in the manufacturing leadership team and have the opportunity to develop both a micro and macro understanding of the role of operations within the carpet cushion business. Job brief
We are looking for a Process Engineer to be responsible for support of the production and plant operations. The successful candidate will be able to improve industrial processes in order to maintain efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability and maximize profitability.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical and project support for plant control processes and quality improvement
- Ensure that objectives of manufacturing are met, while minimizing production downtime due to process related issues
- Develop, configure and optimize industrial processes from inception through to start up and certification utilizing controls knowledge, continuous improvement, best practices, etc.
- Assess processes, collect, and interpret data
- Conduct CI training
- Develop best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output
- Manage cost and time constraints
- Provide process documentation and operating instructions
- General understanding of inventory and production reporting in manufacturing environment
Qualifications/Requirements
- BS degree in Engineering or related field or a minimum of 1 year experience in Process Engineering
- Excellent technical skills including an understanding of controls/electrical engineering
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Process
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations
- Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of machine monitoring, performance and quality systems
- Understanding and knowledge of general IT network environments (plant/office) and troubleshooting
