Industrial Maintenance Technician - Montague, MI
· This is a full-time, first shift position with a semi-flexible start time
· Hourly Pay Range: $26-$32
· Location: Future Foam Innovation Center at 8155 Cook St. Montague MI
· You will be a key person on a small team that is focused on the research and development of polyurethane foam technologies
· The ideal candidate is an organized, self-motivated problem solver. You will have a background in Maintenance but are willing to learn new skills. You must be able to work well on a team and independently without direct supervision.
· You will use company provided tools
Maintenance – 50% of role
· Complete preventive and break-fix maintenance on equipment
o Equipment Mix: pumps, tanks, valves, regulators, motors, relief devices, air handlers, air compressor, pneumatics, scales, temp/pressure/level instruments, etc.
· Modify piping and tubing
· Assemble new equipment
· Build and organize the Maintenance Shop
· Assist with ordering and specifying parts
· Complete general facility maintenance such as minor painting, carpentry and plumbing
Process Operation – 30% of role
· Assist with the construction and assembly of a pilot scale foam pour line
· Assist with the operation of a pilot scale foam pour line
Testing Department – 20% of role (Optional)
· Operate foam testing equipment to generate data on foam samples
o This portion of the role is optional if you have interest in gaining this skillset
· High school diploma is a requirement
· 5 plus years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
· Must have effective verbal and written English communication skills
· Must be able to effectively use an EMAIL system for internal and external communication
· Must be able to operate a fork truck with demonstrated experience
· Demonstrated history of following safety procedures, using PPE and executing lock out tag out of equipment
· Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting, repairing and installing the equipment mix noted above
· Ability to read mechanical, plumbing, P&IDs, and electrical schematics
· Working knowledge of electrical circuits 120/240/480V
· General understanding of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) is a plus
· Ability to troubleshoot low voltage control circuits, VFDs and PLCs is a plus
· The ability to weld and/or fabricate is a plus
· Experience coordinating Contractor activities is a plus
· Associate’s Degree or Skilled Trade Certificate is a plus
· Chemical handling experience is a plus
· Position is physically demanding
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs occasionally
· Must be able to occasionally wear a respirator and pass a respirator fit test
· Ability to execute strenuous, sometimes repetitive physical work, climbing and lifting objects
