What are the responsibilities and job description for the Import Coordinator (Temporary Assignment) position at FUTURE FORWARDING COMPANY?
This is a temporary role for 3 - 4 months to cover leave of absence.
Core Focus:
The Import Coordinator will be coordinating the air and ocean freight cargo transportation of goods on behalf of assigned customer accounts or routes for, generating all required documentation and reports, and tracking of shipments ensuring timetables as per our customers' requirements
Role and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate air and ocean import shipments to ensure the delivery as clients request
- Interact with customers responding to inquiries in a timely manner and providing timely shipment status updates
- Prepare accurate import documents, compiling carrier and route assignments, and tracking shipments
- Arrange shipping documentation, clearances, shipping mode, delivery, tracking and notification with customs, air carriers, ocean carriers and domestic carriers
- Issue arrival notices, freight releases and invoices to both international and domestic clients
- Handle and process B/L, invoice, packing list, AMS, ISF, FCM, AES and others
- Assure that complete and accurate files for documentation and compliance purposes are maintained, as well as for customer visibility
- Confirm shipping details against documents such as pieces, weight, volume, origin, POD, and destination
- Work and communicate with customs brokers and logistics providers to resolve any potential issues/delays
- Provide other duties requested by Manager
Required Experience:
- Minimum of two to five years of handling air and ocean imports from arranging collection overseas to delivering to consignee and all the functions in between
- Proficient in PC skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred Skills:
- Create quotations for individual shipments, including estimating prices for the shipper, and selecting transportation companies to use1 year of experience in CargoWise
- Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service skills
- A high level of energy and a "can-do" positive attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
On site: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
