Responsibilities:
- Develop lesson plans and curriculum for teaching reading, writing, math, science, and social studies to first-grade students
- Assess students' academic progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and respect
- Manage classroom behavior and discipline, using positive reinforcement and appropriate consequences
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's academic progress and behavior
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to plan and implement school-wide events and programs
- Keep accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance
- Provide extra support and accommodations for students with learning disabilities or other special needs
- Stay up-to-date with current teaching methodologies, trends, and technology to improve teaching effectiveness
- Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and other school-related events as required.
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree or higher,
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field (Preferred)
- Florida Department of Education Teacher Certification (Preferred)
- 1 years experience as a Elementary School Teacher
- DCF Level 2 and VECHS Background Screening
- Strong knowledge of child development, early childhood education, and teaching methodologies
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans and curricula that align with state standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, parents, and colleagues
- Patience, flexibility, and creativity to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
- Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively using positive reinforcement and appropriate consequences
- Experience with technology and other instructional tools to enhance teaching and learning
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training to improve teaching effectiveness.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 70 – 80 per week
