Position Summary:
The HR Assistant participates in all HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and compliance. They manage end-to-end recruitment processes and ensure seamless onboarding and benefits enrollment while maintaining compliance. Additionally, they provide HR guidance, and participate in special projects to support organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the recruitment and hiring process, including job postings, screening candidates, scheduling interviews and preparing and proposing job proposals.
- Facilitate onboarding for new hires and rehires and coordinate new hire introductions and orientation.
- Administer new employee and existing employee benefits enrollment and life events, programs, including health insurance, and other employee perks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate termination process with exiting employees, schedule exit interviews with leadership, while ensuring adherence to company policies and applicable employment laws.
- Facilitate HR employee check-ins at set time frame after hire, collect feedback and present to HR Director and Executive Director for action items.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR-related matters, including but not limited to employee relations, performance management, and compliance issues in absence of the HR Director.
- Stay informed about changes in employment laws and regulations, proactively advising management on compliance matters and recommended actions.
- Participate in special projects, initiatives and all other duties as assigned by the HR Director.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of Educational Requirements). 1-2 years in HR functions like recruitment, onboarding, or benefits administration.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of employment laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO) and familiarity with HRIS systems and HR best practices.
- Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR tools.
- Abilities: Manage multiple priorities, provide HR guidance, and ensure compliance in the absence of the HR Director.
- Qualities: Proactive, ethical, and team-oriented with a focus on confidentiality and supporting organizational goals.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
