We are seeking a Budget Analyst to join our talented team of professionals to support a federal agency. The Budget Data Analyst role requires a detail-oriented professional who can provide actionable insights and financial analyses based on the agency's data.

- Conduct detailed financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend identification, and forecasting, to support strategic decision-making.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insights into budget performance and recommendations for improvements.
- Performs budget execution and administration work involving the monitoring of obligations incurred and the actual expenditures of a budget with different sources and types of funding
- Conducts analyses, reviews, and special studies of budget and/or related information
- Leads and/or performs specialized, individual financial analyses and impact studies in support of a variety of budget programs
- Uses automated budgetary system(s) and computer-generated products in accomplishing budgeting analyses
- Collaborates with other offices across to support overarching financial activities, improvement, and standardization
- Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data and ensure accurate reporting
- 7 years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in developing and managing budgets in complex organizational settings.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience in preparing and presenting financial reports to senior management.
- In-depth knowledge of financial policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- The contractor may be required to travel within and outside the local area to support the task requirements, such as attendance at meetings, demonstrations, and working group meetings
- SQL is nice to have
