Job Title: Future Stars AAU Girls Director

About Us: Future Stars AAU Basketball is a competitive youth basketball program dedicated to developing young athletes' skills, sportsmanship, and teamwork. We offer teams for players ages 6-14, providing a positive and nurturing environment where players can excel on the court and grow as individuals.
Job Overview: We are seeking a passionate and committed AAU Basketball director to join our coaching staff. The Future Stars AAU Basketball director will primarily be responsible for coaching and mentoring our female teams and coaches, with additional support provided to other teams within the program as needed. This role is pivotal in helping young athletes develop their basketball skills and love for the game.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Coaching:
- Plan, organize, and lead team practices to improve player skills, understanding of the game, and overall team performance.
- Provide constructive feedback and support for player development.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and individual growth.
- Prepare teams for AAU tournaments, including game strategies and tactics.
2. Tournament Coaching:
- Attend AAU tournaments with the teams and serve as the head coach during these events.
- Manage in-game decisions, player rotations, and substitutions to maximize team performance.
- Promote good sportsmanship and positive behavior among players, parents, and fans.
3. Program Support:
- Assist with practices and tournaments for other age groups (10-11 and 12-14) within the program as needed.
- Collaborate with other coaches to ensure consistent coaching philosophies and player development across all teams.
- Participate in coaching meetings and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience, preferably with youth basketball programs.
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Positive attitude, patience, and a dedication to player development.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends to accommodate practice and tournament schedules.
Working Hours: This is a part-time position that requires flexibility in working hours. The schedule will primarily include Tuesday and Thursday evenings and weekends to accommodate practice sessions and tournament events.
