Bilingual: Preferred
Requirements: Car, Auto insurance, Driver’s License, Live Scan Background check, DMV report for the past 7 years for Educators transporting in Kern County. (DMV printout required annually), Must be 18 years of age.
Availability: Weekdays, Weekends, Full-time, Part-time
Start Date: Immediate hire - several positions available
Job Summary:
Perform services (In-home and community) teaching consumers with Developmental Disabilities.
Job Duties:
Train or teach children and/or adults with Developmental Disabilities to accomplish daily skills in the home and in the community. Follow Individual Service Plan, work mid-level cases and provide training in the following areas, but not limited to: personal management of health, money management, and community resources. Locate community resources, complete all hours assigned, maintain accurate records, submit all reports as needed, identify and report possible abuse/neglect.
Skills and Educational Requirements:
Must have experience working with persons with Developmental Disabilities. Ability to communicate with Consumers and Supervisors, ability to problem solve. Current CPR/First Aid certification for adults (or to be completed within 30 days of hire). Ability to use creativity in following the Service Plan. Minimum two years of work experience or education in the field working with persons with Developmental Disabilities. Experience in Adaptive Skills Training or Independent Living Skills. Must be able to maintain appropriate boundaries with Consumers and their families.
Work Environment:
Working in client homes, visits to schools, social settings, grocery stores, Mall, SSI, DMV, banks, etc.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively, ability to organize, make simple calculations, perform a variety of tasks at one time, manage a change of schedule on short notice, ability to use creativity to teach the Individual Service Plan.
You must complete an I-9 and show valid proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
Pay Range: $19.00 - $20.00 Hourly
