Our production facility includes powder coating, CNC milling, sewing, roll-forming, glass cutting and tempering, and product assembly. Our sales force operates regionally to serve our nationwide dealer network.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Retractable Awning Mechanical Assembler to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling retractable awning systems according to company standards and specifications. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, precision, and a commitment to delivering high-quality products.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Apply extensive knowledge of mechanics and geometry resulting in the layout and fabrication of metal and fabric components into a finished product
- Demonstrate an aptitude and desire to learn product configurations and apply that knowledge to the manufacturing of our various types of awnings
- Communicate effectively with other employees to assure all mechanical fabrication steps meet the specs of our products
- Assist with the set-up and operate fabricating punches, drill presses and fabrication hand tools used to cut, bend, and assemble products
- Operate forklifts to move parts to fabricating machines or assembly area
- Inspects assemblies for conformance with specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, scales, and measuring tapes
- Always observe safety policies
- Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of assigned area(s) and equipment
- Performs other duties and tasks as may be assigned
Qualifications:
- Speak, read and write fluent English
- Applicant must have at least one to three years’ experience in general construction, basic carpentry and remodeling
- Related mechanical fabrication experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience using various hand and power tools as well as other tools of the trade as necessary
- Maintain overall strong leadership skills through effective communications
- Ability to problem solve and able to think outside the box to determine resolutions
- Excellent self-starter, leadership and interpersonal skills
- Energetic, flexible, enthusiastic and highly motivated to meet production timelines
- Be able to operate under pressure, meet deadlines and continually strive to improve processes
- Must have good attention to detail and memory of instructions
- Must be able to lift to 100 pounds
- Must pass a successful background check and pre-employment physical
Schedule:
- Regular hours: Monday – Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm.
- Overtime as required.
