Speech Language Pathologist- Full-Time
Location: Kelso, WA, 98626
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree and possess, or be eligible, for Washington State ESA Certificate as a School Speech Language Pathologist/Audiologist.
- Knowledge of state and federal legislation for disabilities.
- Ability to uphold board policies and follow administrative procedures.
- Ability to conduct individual, group, and classroom language instruction with young children.
- Knowledge of assistive/augmentative communication technology.
- Effective communication skills both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work directly with Special Education personnel, parents, and school staff.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel between buildings as required.
- Experience working with interdisciplinary and interagency teams.
- Willingness to participate in professional development activities to upgrade professional skills.
- Ability to supervise and schedule classified staff assigned to assist in program services.
Responsibilities:
- Organize and conduct an identification program for communication disorders.
- Employ appropriate diagnostic procedures and develop guidelines for a comprehensive remediation program.
- Maintain a system to record all identification, evaluative data, and continuous student performance information.
- Take part as a team member in special education assessment, eligibility and program design.
- Complete all required reports and records, including Medicaid billings, in a timely and accurate manner.
- Consult with parents, staff, and administration regarding student needs.
- Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and board policies.
- Maintain student confidentiality according to HIPAA and FERPA guidelines.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
