Survey Project Manager - Full-time
Location: Asheville, NC
Required Qualifications:

Professional land surveyor license Required (preferable in NC & TN)

Degree in surveying, civil engineering, or related field.

Minimum of eight years of experience in surveying and engineering projects

Proficient in using surveying instruments, software, and methods.
-
Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations
-
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-
Must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and the ability to obtain security clearance.

Must have the physical ability to work outdoors in all weather for extended periods of time and be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
-
Ability to travel and work on projects throughout North Carolina and the surrounding states
-
Strong technical, documentation, and organizational skills
-
Ability to identify potential conflicts and issues.

Understanding of how underground utility systems work and the ability to obtain below-grade measurements without confined space entry.

Thorough knowledge and experience operating surveying equipment

Experience in the use of surveying software: AutoCAD Civil3D, TBC, Bentley MicroStation
-
Knowledge of survey data collection principles, practices, methods, and procedures
-
Proficient in reading engineering, architectural, and structural drawings

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Job Description

Coordinate and assist with the supervision of survey department activities.
-
Communicate with clients, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to establish project requirements, specifications, and expectations.

Assist with survey proposals, contracts, budgets, and schedules.
-
Perform research and calculations to prepare jobs for field surveying activities.
-
Perform survey adjustments and analysis of field data gathered by survey crews.
-
Perform complex surveying tasks such as boundary determination and surface modeling.
-
Ensure the quality and accuracy of survey data, calculations, and reports.
-
Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff.
-
Review and certify survey drawings and reports.
-
Manage and maintain survey equipment, software, and records.
-
Be a morale booster.

Serves on Committees and Teams as requested by management.

Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
