We are currently seeking a Job Developer in our Employment Training Program to provide guidance in developing vocational goals as well as the identification and acquisition of resources/support to achieve desired outcomes.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Provides instruction, support, and on‐the‐job training in a variety of activities, including access, advocacy, appropriate behavior, budgeting and money management, communication, community integration, computer training, cultural events, health and safety preparation, job skills, self‐advocacy, social skills, supported employment, travel training, vocational training, volunteer jobs, and other designated skills.
  • Supports exploration of vocational interests and aptitudes, including opportunities for career growth.
  • Supports preparation for job entry by identifying and documenting job/training opportunities.
  • Supports developing and implementing strategies, tools, and techniques to increase job performance.
  • Supports integration into the work environment.
  • Provides job retention support.
  • Assists with researching and developing jobs and meaningful work‐related activities, and oversees participants during work time.
  • Provides instruction and training in a variety of work‐related activities including resumé development, interviewing practice, and job application completion, and other job preparation skills, such as navigating employment resources, organization, time management, understanding of assignments, and employer expectations.
  • Facilitates our participants’ integration through internships, employment, or volunteer opportunities, and negotiates work‐related issues with employers, such as schedule, site modifications, etc.
  • Drives personal vehicle to provide services, transport participants, drive to work sites and provide services as required/needed. Mileage reimbursement provide
  • Conducts Situational Assessments and task analysis, and subsequent reporting; Uses information gained to help the individual identify possible job interests, locate potential employers, and apply, and supports interviews leading to employment outcomes, which may include identifying job lead resources and regularly tracking job openings.
  • Analyzes job tasks to develop training programs.
  • Develops Individual Service Plans (ISP’s), including the supports, activities, and resources required for individuals to achieve personal goals. Oversees and completes daily charting and/or case noting.
  • Completes DoR, DDS, and Regional Center reports in compliance with regulations.
  • Notifies the Director/Coordinator of any accidents, special incidents, crises, health and safety issues, potential problems, unusual situations, complaints, challenges, special projects, etc., and writes initial Special Incident/Accident reports as witnessed.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years or more related work experience, preferably with a human service agency or educational organization.
  • Flexibility and the ability to learn quickly and adapt to changes in job assignments, personnel, individuals served, environment, and procedures.
  • Ability to analyze problems, situations, and alternatives to make effective decisions, both agency-based and in the community.
  • Ability to handle many tasks simultaneously, prioritize work, and meet deadlines while working under pressure with interruptions.
  • Detail-oriented organizational skills, with the ability to organize and maintain record-keeping systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer services skills. Proficient in conflict resolution.
  • Occasional availability evenings and weekends for participant support, meetings, and community events.
  • Reliable transportation to meet program needs and maintain position.
  • Knowledgeable of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and G Suite Workplace.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledgeable of Lanterman Act regulations, Regional Center guidelines, and State of California Licensing regulations.
  • Certified in First Aid/CPR/AED by a qualified instructor.

Special Requirements:

  • LiveScan criminal record clearance (or exemption) prior to start.
  • Health Screening and TB Test clearance prior to start.
  • Possess a valid CA Driver License and insurable driving record, and evidence of auto insurance for personal vehicle driven for company business.

Physical Demands and Work Environment Requirements:

Physical stamina and ability to meet the physical requirements necessary to perform the assigned duties safely and effectively, including:

  • Walking/Standing up to 7.5 hours per day.
  • Looking at a screen (computer, tablet) and typing case notes throughout the day.
  • Lifting and/or carrying items weighing up to 20 – 30 pounds.
  • Bending, reaching, pulling, and pushing.

While performing the duties of this position, the individual may be exposed to:

  • Moderate to loud noise.
  • Weather conditions at that time, with extremes of heat and/or cold and wet and/or humid conditions.
