Sr. Configuration Management Leader
To continue to fuel our growth, Softura is seeking an experienced Sr. Configuration Management Leader ready to step into our Advanced Solutions Development Team to support one of our key customer. The role of the Senior Configuration Manager is to:
· Understand the current engineering and development process and define the to-be configuration management process, guidelines and governance.
· Identify the configuration items across the entire lifecycle of the engineering and development process.
· Ensure that changes to configuration items are approved and processed so that the integrity of the product baseline is maintained throughout the development life cycle.
· Manage preparation, justification, evaluation, coordination, disposition, and implementation of proposed engineering changes to affected Configuration Items (CIs) and baselined configuration documentation.
· Establish and maintain a systematic change management process that
o Regulates life-cycle costs,
o Allows optimum design and development latitude with the appropriate degree and depth of configuration change control procedures during the life cycle of a system/CONFIGURATION ITEM.
o Provides efficient processing and implementation of configuration changes that maintain or enhance operational readiness, supportability, interchangeability and interoperability,
o Ensures complete, accurate and timely changes to configuration documentation maintained under appropriate configuration control authority,
o Eliminates unnecessary change proliferation.
Role Description:
· Leading a team through the configuration, change, release, program management, work flows and process management with minimal direction and supervision.
· Subject matter expert responsible for providing leadership in CM to all cross functions in the company.
· Provide the leadership necessary to develop and subsequently formalize standard CM methods and tools across all projects.
· Manage configuration programs to ensure that all proposed and actual changes to program technology and documentation are properly staffed, approved, and tracked.
· Facilitate development, documentation, and implementation of detailed plans for ensuring configuration control for IT programs, projects, and tasks.
· Build or work with a team that will build the necessary integration across various CM tools to meet the set CM process.
· Responsible for the successful planning, scheduling, coordination, communication and execution of operational configuration and product definition control item design and changes.
· Define and enforce compliance with change management policy, process and controls.
· Facilitate training, coaching and guidance to internal teams, growing change governance best practices throughout the organization.
· Responsible for maintaining accuracy and control over configuration items within the configuration management framework.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a “STEM” field.
· Must have overall experience of 15 years, with 5 to 8 years in a leadership role and 7 to 10 years in configuration management tools, concepts, and principles including planning and control.
· Knowledge of implementing CM discipline for the entire lifecycle of systems from initial requirements and capabilities baselines to system end-of-life
· Must be able to apply configuration management techniques to a wide range of configuration controlled items.
· Must have strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
· Must have knowledge of GitHub, Microsoft Office Suite.
· Must have strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication, persuasion skills and the ability to work well with others and drive results.
Preferred Qualification:
· Knowledge in SysML tools such as MagicDraw.
· Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a “STEM” field.
