Job Summary:
- We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL DBA Architect with 15 years of expertise in designing, implementing, and managing high-performance database solutions.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the architecture, scalability, performance tuning, security, and administration of PostgreSQL databases across complex environments.
- This role requires deep technical expertise in PostgreSQL, database migrations, cloud technologies, and automation.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Architecture & Design:
- Architect and implement highly available, scalable, and secure PostgreSQL database solutions.
- Design and optimize database schemas, indexing strategies, and partitioning techniques for performance enhancement.
- Define best practices, standards, and governance for database architecture and administration.
Database Administration & Performance Tuning:
- Perform installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching of PostgreSQL databases.
- Conduct performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and partitioning.
- Implement and manage high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies (e.g., replication, failover, and backup strategies).
- Monitor and analyze database health using tools such as pgAdmin, Nagios, or Prometheus.
Migration & Cloud Integration:
- Lead complex database migration projects from Oracle, MySQL, or SQL Server to PostgreSQL.
- Work with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and implement PostgreSQL on RDS, Aurora, or self-managed instances.
- Design and implement cloud-native database solutions using PostgreSQL.
Security & Compliance:
- Ensure database security by implementing encryption, role-based access control (RBAC), and auditing.
- Maintain compliance with industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability analysis, and penetration testing for database systems.
