We are seeking a seasoned and resourceful Construction Manager to lead the execution of a large-scale, multi-site infrastructure program in Los Angeles. This role involves managing multiple stages of the rollout for the LA Sidewalk and Transit Amenities Program (STAP). The Construction Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, complex environment to achieve program objectives.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee a pipeline of up to 999 sites annually, ensuring efficient progress across multiple project stages, from site selection to completion.
- Manage pre-construction and construction activities, including permitting, design reviews, utility coordination, and compliance with city and transit agency regulations, ensuring timely and high-quality execution.
- Attend on-site meetings and coordinate with city and transit agencies to resolve issues, maintain site progress, and address challenges as they arise.
- Utilize Sitetracker or similar project management software to track, monitor, and optimize site progress, providing data-driven insights to support critical project decisions. Project management software such as Premavera is similar.
- Develop and manage detailed reports and forecasts using advanced Excel and data analysis skills, enabling accurate tracking and resource planning.
- Collaborate with cross-discipline teams—including planning, engineering, construction, and operations—to ensure end-to-end alignment and execution of the program.
- Adapt to program complexities, balancing structure with flexibility while addressing shifting priorities and resolving immediate project needs.
- Transition effectively between strategic program planning and detailed problem-solving, providing innovative and resourceful solutions to challenges.
- Take ownership of specific processes within the program, driving continuous improvement and workflow optimization to achieve operational excellence.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to wear many hats, stepping into diverse roles and responsibilities as required to ensure program success.
- 10 years of experience in project management, engineering, construction management, or a related field, with a focus on multi-site, distributed infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience managing construction projects in the public Right of Way, ensuring compliance with municipal regulations and permitting requirements.
- Proficiency with Sitetracker or equivalent project management tools.
- Expertise in data analysis, querying, and advanced Excel techniques for reporting and decision-making.
- Strong knowledge of engineering, construction management, and project management principles.
- Ability to alternate seamlessly between strategic thinking and detail-oriented execution.
- Exceptional adaptability to dynamic priorities and complex workflows.
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving skills with a proactive, self-driven work style.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
