We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Low Voltage Technician to join our growing team in Omaha, Nebraska. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in installing, maintaining, and servicing low voltage systems, including alarm systems, CCTV, access control systems, and ideally fire alarms. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional development, including support to obtain a low voltage license if not already held.
As a Low Voltage Technician, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining a variety of low voltage systems at client sites, primarily in the Omaha area, with some in-state travel required.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, test, and maintain low voltage systems, including alarm systems, CCTV, access control, and fire alarms (if applicable).
Perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance on existing systems.
Ensure that all installations comply with local codes and industry standards.
Provide exceptional customer service, including clear communication and timely updates to clients.
Travel to client locations within Nebraska for installation and service work.
Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation.
Assist with system upgrades and system configuration as needed.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects efficiently and safely.
Participate in ongoing training to keep up-to-date with industry trends and certifications, including working toward obtaining a low voltage license (if not already held).
Required Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience working with low voltage systems, including alarm systems, CCTV, access control, and fire alarms.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
Familiarity with the installation, maintenance, and service of low voltage equipment and systems.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for in-state travel.
Excellent communication skills and ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Low voltage license (or the ability to obtain one within a specified time frame).
Experience with fire alarm systems.
Knowledge of local and state codes related to low voltage installations.
Industry certifications (such as NICET, NTS, etc.) are a plus.
