JOB SUMMARY
A Superintendent controls and oversees all of the workforce, materials and company assets while ensuring that we as a Company provide a quality product in a professional manner. They understand what qualifications are required for the employees to work on site for all jobs they manage.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Ensure that all employees have a safe working environment by keeping a clean and professional jobsite.
- Ensure that all employees are informed and follow the safety policies of Walton and all other regulatory agencies.
- Report all accidents and incidents ASAP on the correct form and file appropriately, ensure medical treatment is obtained if necessary.
- Promote quality and profitability throughout by providing necessary information to all crews.
- Set expectations to demand high quality standards as a way of doing business.
- Keep all company assets (equipment) are in good working condition and stored/protected.
- Communicate all necessary / relevant information about the progress and any issues related to the job from start to completion.
- Maintain a clean driving record in accordance with the company's policy. You must be insured and legally able to drive.
- Supervise crews and foremen.
- Hold at least weekly meetings with all assigned foremen.
- Assist project manager in all aspects of the job until complete.
- Ensure the 'right' employees are on your job: Skills, qualifications, training and appropriate certificates.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time, review and ensure the foremen's paperwork is also accurate and on time.
- Continuously work on growing/improving your foremen by providing guidance, training, learning opportunities focused on improving employee morale and building a positive work environment.
- Assist with following the policy for conducting and documenting employee evaluations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Lead crews and foremen by example.
- Must be able to 'walk' a job understand what needs to be done in order to provide guidance and expertise to crew.
- Solve issues between all parties.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Certificate in Previous on the job experience can substitute for formal education.
- 5 years required in Roofing / construction.
- 3 years required in Foreman / supervisor.
- 3 years required in Good working knowledge base of computers -email, spreadsheets, Word.
