FedWriters is building a team to provide comprehensive communications support for the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division. As an Executive Writer, you will develop high-quality written materials for senior executives and high-profile audiences, with a focus on distilling complex defense, government, or STEM-related topics into clear, engaging narratives.

Work Schedule and Location:
On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division.
- Draft speeches, presentations, and talking points for senior leadership
- Produce executive correspondence, including memos, letters, and official statements
- Research and develop content on complex technical and policy matters
- Translate specialized information into accessible, compelling narratives
- Edit and review documents for clarity, accuracy, and strategic alignment
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy
- Meet tight deadlines while maintaining exceptional quality standards
- Support strategic communication initiatives across multiple channels
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Political Science, Public Affairs, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- At least five (5) years of experience in executive writing, speechwriting, public affairs, or strategic communications
- Proven ability to write for senior executives and high-profile audiences, with a strong understanding of defense, government, or STEM-related topics preferred
- Exceptional writing, editing, and research skills, with the ability to distill complex topics into clear, engaging narratives
- Experience developing speeches, talking points, and official correspondence in a fast-paced environment
- Strong ability to capture voice and tone of senior leaders while maintaining clarity and strategic intent
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Requires an active Secret level security clearance
