Job Summary:
This position includes installing and maintaining irrigation systems on commercial and residential properties. Various landscape installation and upkeep including planting, mulching, hardscape installation and snow removal. Assist with managing the grounds, horticulture and landscape of various multi-family communities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Experience with installing or maintaining large commercial irrigation systems. Knowledge in multiple systems and irrigation components including Rain bird, Hunter, and Toro.
- Possesses general knowledge of equipment and equipment operation. The ideal candidate would have experience with skid steers, trenchers and vibratory plows.
- Knowledge in horticulture to assist with the planting of various landscape beds. The ability to identify annual and perennial plants, as well as trees is a plus.
- Experience in operating appropriate hand and power tools including but not limited to shovels, rakes, saws, and gas equipment is necessary.
- Addresses questions or concerns with the clients if approached. Communicates customer’s questions immediately with the supervisor.
- Cleans and maintains company trucks, trailers, equipment, and tools as necessary.
- Communicates and works in conjunction with Foreman and crew members to complete tasks at hand.
- Required to travel for out-of-town jobs.
- Assist with snow removal during winter weather events. Includes snow blowers, shovels, salt spreaders, trucks and tractors.
- Adheres to the company’s employee manual & safety procedures as required from all employees. Demonstrates proper use of safety equipment and Personal Protective Equipment and practices of the crew.
- Travels to, and participate in, both regional and corporate training and/or conferences as required.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to adhere to regular and full time attendance
- Prior experience in landscape and irrigation
- Able to provide independent transportation to company owned locations within the Columbia area and able to legally operate a registered and properly insured vehicle.
- Class E commercial drivers license
