Retail Buyer

Qualifications Needed:

· Proficient in G-Suite programs including Google Docs, Sheets, and Gmail and/or Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Access and Word.

· Excellent communication and organizational skills.

· Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Business Economics, Purchasing or 4 years of in purchasing merchandise.

Job Description:

The Buyer will collaborate with the Chief Merchandising Officer as well as other members of the buying team to review merchandise to be purchased for FYE stores as part of our expanding Pop Culture assortment of products. This position will require interaction with external vendor partners to discover product opportunities, negotiate pricing and terms for purchases, and to identify potential new vendor partners and product lines. In their role as a merchant, the Buyer will be expected to review product sales and make recommendations for expansion or markdown based on product performance.

The Buyer will work with the Planning team to maintain purchase and receipt plans, achieve gross profit goals and manage their inventory to meet company targets. In addition, they will work with the Marketing team to ensure products are being promoted as they arrive in stores and on fye.com. These responsibilities require organization and attention to detail in a very fast-paced work environment as well as strong time management skills. Previous merchandising and purchasing experience for specialty retail is preferred. The Buyer will primarily use tools including Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, Google sheets and the Island Pacific merchandising system (training will be provided).

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
