Position: Territory Sales Manager – Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virgina, Maryland, Virgina

Position Status: Full-time, Salary-Exempt

Reports To: Director of Sales – East Region

Location: Remote

Position Summary:

The Territory Sales Manager (TSM) will meet or exceed the overall sales and profit goals within their assigned territory. The TSM will be held accountable for collaborating on-site with key end-users to deliver site audits, productivity gains and increased efficiencies. The TSM will also support sell-through activities and utilize FyterTech’s value proposition elements with focus distribution partners that create long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships for the distributor, end user customer and FyterTech. The TSM will develop and implement an annual sales plan in support of the organization’s strategic objectives while reporting progress to plan, as well as competitive activity, to their Director of Sales on a regular and informed basis. Delivering the FyterTech value proposition to our end user customers, and communicating our convincing advantages is a requirement for the Territory Sales Manager role.

Keys to Success:

  • Effective Selling:
    • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets within the assigned territory.
    • Identify new business opportunities and expand the customer base.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential distributors and end users.
    • Stay updated with industry knowledge, sales techniques, and product knowledge.
    • Collaborate with internal teams such as marketing, product development, operations, and customer support to ensure seamless customer experiences.
  • Cultivating Customer Relationships:
    • Function as the main point of contact for clients within the territory.
    • Understand clients' business needs and propose suitable product or service solutions.
    • Provide exceptional customer service and resolve customer complaints or issues in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  • Territory Development:
    • Building and executing a detailed business plan in support of the organization’s strategic objectives. Track progress against objectives and communicate adjustments to the plan to the Director of Sales.
    • Build out account plan in our CRM that detail the opportunity funnels that will support the growth initiatives needed to execute results.
    • Monitor and analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
    • Prepare and present regular sales reports and forecasts to the Director of Sales or other members of the Sales Leadership team.
  • Expanding End-Users and Technical Knowledge:
    • Continually grow end-user contacts within defined end user segments. Grow market share at existing end-user partners while taking share at new end user sites.
    • Spend at least 50% of your time with end users in the field understanding their processes and applications; provide solutions that will increase productivity and/or promote a safer work environment.
    • Position FyterTech to be the end-user’s first call when they find a problem in search of s solution.
  • Managing Budgets:
    • Monitor and manage annual travel & entertainment budgets to stay within the corporate budget developed for the district.
  • Collaborative Culture:
    • Exhibits a positive, energetic, can-do, winning attitude when representing the company to customers / clients.
    • Organized, analytical, creative, and adaptive in your approach to selling and problem solving.
    • Participates in internal and external training and development opportunities as required.
What we Value:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent sales experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ selling industrial products.
  • Ability to effectively engage and sell in a virtual environment by using technology like Microsoft Teams and Zoom when face-to-face meetings are not possible.
  • Current or past experience with a safety products manufacturer preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent presentation skills in dynamic environments including at end user manufacturing sites and distributor branches.
  • Track record of success selling value-added solutions in a competitive, high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Strong time management skills to balance the territory needs while executing focus initiatives.
  • Attention to detail and follow through.
  • Excellent customer service skills, ability to lead and collaborate within a team.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to creatively to turn challenges into opportunities.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • This position requires extensive travel, estimated at 70%.
  • The work environment changes daily and involves work at manufacturing sites, remote areas within the assigned district and in home-office work.
  • Ability to climb, walk, do light lifting, sit for extended periods, or stand for prolonged periods.
  • Performs other duties as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position. These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
