Jay Chavda, MD-PA has been serving patients in the Houston area for more 30 years. He specializes in Ear, Nose, and Throat care, but can also extend to hearing services, physical therapy, and allergy treatment for his patients. The clinic also is family-owned and operated, and the staff atmosphere is very cooperative. The clinic sees anywhere from 30-40 patients per day for various services.
Our organization is seeking an Audiology technician or assistant to help support the Audiology services for Jay Chavda, MD-PA. The role requirements include administering hearing tests, balance tests, and assisting the audiologist with hearing aid evaluations, fittings, and dispensing. Additionally, the role requires a high level of organization and attention to detail to be able to monitor the patient's audiology journey with our clinic. Our Audiology department is dedicated to helping patients and making sure that they are comfortable throughout their time with us. Our staff truly believe in providing high quality patient care, and this position is excellent for individuals who enjoy helping people and working in a clinic setting.
Job requirements:
1. Must be familiar with practices in a medical office and be proficient in computer skills.
2. Must speak fluent Spanish
3. Must be comfortable checking in and checking out patients. The Audiology technician/assistant must be willing to handle care from when the patient walks in the door to when the patient walks out as it pertains to audiology services. On occasion, the job role will also require flexibility of duties. This will depend on demands of the clinic and if other staff is out for the day.
4. Schedule for work while under training with the audiologist is every Monday and every 2nd and 4th Thursday. Additional days may be added for training at a location in Sugar Land. Once the audiologist approves testing without supervision, schedule can be set on a case by case basis.
Responsibilities:
- Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner
- Perform routine hearing tests and videonystagmography tests, and scan all necessary documents into the patient's chart
- Communicate clearly and effectively patient next steps
- Escort patients to exam rooms
- Document test results, and maintain patient records of audiology services
- Assist audiologist with administrative tasks related to audiology services
- Manage task load of patient-facing tasks, phone calls, faxing out orders, etc.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in healthcare or other related fields
- Familiarity with back office patient care
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
