What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping clerk position at G.A Alabama LLC (LBM) (LBM)?
The shipping and receiving clerk position verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards.
Process all paperwork in the Shipping area and interact with truck drivers to ensure proper and timely dispensation of all necessary paperwork and documentation.
Receives deliveries and performs visual and physical inspection of parts, supplies, equipment for quality and correctness.
Assist in unloading trucks, checks and verifies items received against packing slips and purchase orders.
Track and maintain appropriate inventory levels of office supplies and coordinate the reordering of necessary supplies.
Input and retrieve data needed to monitor all activity necessary to support our customer requirements.
Match broadcast to shipping requirements.
Communicate effectively to meet customer ship requirements.
Support physical inventories and cycle counts as required.
Reconcile variances and assist in the corrective actions to prevent future discrepancies.
Maintain records for shipping and receiving.Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and all office space 5S compliance.
Communicate and prepare management reports for key operating indicators.
Prepares and processes materials packages and other items for shipment via a variety of carriers. Scan and tag loads.
Control truck access to loading dock area.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Clean all assigned work areas after completion of the required work, return all tools and equipment to proper storage areas at the end of the shift and report any malfunctioning equipment to the shipping and receiving supervisor.
Record and report all data required to maintain daily shipping and receiving records and submit the data to the shipping and receiving supervisor.
Direct all non-conforming parts to the appropriate reprocess area.
Maintain proper radio etiquette when using company radios, business use only.
Must be able to work overtime as needed in accordance with Company Policy.
Participate in updating 5s Board as required.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor, Warehouse Manager and Materials Manager.
