G&A Partners' client is currently seeking a Assistant Controller to join its team in Chicago, IL or remotely.
Responsibilities
- Carry out month-end close procedures including preparation of account reconciliations & financials, posting of journal entries, and organizing supporting documents.
- Assist the Property Manager and Controller to ensure accuracy of journal entries and general ledger.
- Assist with the treasury functions.
- Assist in annual plan/budget preparation process by preparing revenue projections and variance analysis for certain accounts.
- Perform Statutory Obligations.
- Work closely with Asset/Project Managers and Controller to ensure accuracy of Funding Notices, spend trackers and financial reporting.
- Manage Project reported positions to ensure compliance alignment to agreements & Deeds.
- Assist with quarterly and annual tax preparation through providing necessary support and answering queries.
- Work on ad-hoc projects alongside the wider finance team.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in financial management, accounting, or controlling roles within commercial real estate.
- Strong knowledge of AP, AR, balance sheet management, P&L, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting systems, Excel, and financial analysis tools.
- Familiarity with local and international tax regulations is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification is required.
