G.A. Rogers & Associates has partnered with our Uptown Dallas, Texas client in search of a dynamic payroll leader to join their growing team.
Your expertise will ensure that payroll operations are executed accurately and on time while complying with company policies and local, state, and federal regulations.
You'll have the opportunity to lead payroll processes, drive system enhancements, and implement continuous improvements across the business.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire payroll process to ensure timely and precise payroll for all employees while adhering to legal requirements and company policies.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to align strategic payroll initiatives with business goals.
- Foster effective communication with Human Resources, Finance, and other departments to support organizational objectives.
- Generate analysis and reports for leadership, providing insights to improve staffing and manage costs effectively.
- Engage in enterprise-wide projects, including system implementations and process optimizations.
- Stay informed on federal, state, and local payroll regulations to ensure compliance with all applicable tax and labor laws.
- Prepare, review, and analyze payroll reports, tax filings, and year-end documentation (such as W-2s and 1099s) to guide decision-making.
- Manage payroll tax filings while ensuring accurate administration of deductions, garnishments, and other essential transactions.
- Collaborate with People & Culture, IT, and other departments to optimize payroll systems and ensure seamless integration with HRIS and time-tracking tools.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within payroll functionality.
- Conduct payroll data audits to ensure integrity and resolve any discrepancies, working closely with auditors for accurate reporting.
- Act as the primary point of contact for complex payroll inquiries from employees, ensuring timely resolution.
- Monitor compliance with payroll laws, addressing any issues proactively and efficiently.
- Oversee 401(k) plan audits, ensuring compliance and accurate processing of contributions and matches.
- Collaborate with People & Culture to ensure accurate payroll deductions for employee benefits, retirement plans, and other compensation structures.
- Ensure proper processing of payroll-related adjustments, including bonuses, commissions, and incentives.
- Lead and mentor the payroll team, ensuring they have the necessary resources and skills to perform their responsibilities effectively.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance environment that encourages continuous learning and accountability.
- Oversee team performance through feedback, performance reviews, and support for career growth.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes, ensuring the team is well-educated to mitigate compliance risks.

What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- 7 years of experience with in-house payroll processing, with strong knowledge of payroll systems and tax regulations.
- Familiarity with payroll and HRIS software
- Proven ability to develop and manage payroll services within a large, complex organization, with at least three years of relevant experience.
- Solid understanding of payroll processes, policies, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to track, evaluate, and report data effectively.
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Exceptional communication skills (oral, written, and presentation) and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Salary : $90,000 - $120,000
