It all starts with the story.As Content Strategist, youll lead the discovery and development of that story for clients that range from renowned museums to universities and corporations. Youll listen closely and facilitate workshops to determine what a client wants to become. Youll read, watch and explore to suss out the most important messages and stories and how to organize them. And youll boldly imagine how to bring those stories to life with a team of multidisciplinary designers.A few important things to know about us : We believe in understanding and telling the whole story. This means community engagement, candid conversations, representing diverse voices, human-centered design, and abundant user testing to make sure that what weve designed serves the people were designing for.We work in integrated teams that cross physical and media experiences. This process invigorates us because it means you start with the story and figure out the best way to tell it. So were looking for someone both excited about and experienced in storytelling using various exhibit techniques.We embrace big ideas and dont shy away from failure. So were excited to hire someone who feels the same.Responsibilities : Contribute actively to the content teams professional growth through project-sharing, problem-solving, discussion-leading and new ideas for how to fuel creativity and improve our process.Play major role in collaborating with client teams to build trust, advance the interpretive strategy, and support the exhibit developmentWork with the internal design team and clients to develop a guiding interpretive strategy and conceptual approach for projectsHelp organize and lead client workshops to explore key themes, messages, and storylinesAssist internal design team with all project deliverables for presentations and client meetingsCollaborate with the design team on mapping physical and digital interpretive experiences to the available exhibit spaceLead content research analysis and formation of content outlines and media matricesCollaborate with the design team and clients to identify, collect, and organize images, artifacts, and other supporting exhibit assetsHelp organize and run user testing of concepts and fully produced contentHelp lead content development for multiple complex projects at one timeAssist in content research and support for new business developmentQualifications / Experience : 5-7 years of relevant experience in content development for museum exhibitsExperience in the production process of both physical exhibits and media experiencesA team player working closely with colleagues from other capabilities in an iterative and collaborative processExcellent writing and communication skillsComfort and skill writing in a variety of styles (for different storytelling techniques, for pitches, for client decks)Excellent presentation skillsDetail-oriented with strong organizational skillsFamiliarity with using Content Management SystemsPreferred Experience : Experience working in the exhibit design industryMasters degree in history, social sciences, or other graduate degree in relevant fieldAdditional museum experienceBenefits Include : Competitive Salary, an Excellent PTO Program plus 12 Company Paid Holidays, Employee Referral Bonus Program, Summer Fridays, many Medical / Dental / Vision / FSA / HSA Benefit options available to fit you and your familys needs, and a 401K with matching program available after 1 month of employment.While our teams operate remotely, with hubs in NYC, D.C., and Portland, we welcome applicants from : California, Colorado, the District of Columbia, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington.To Apply : Qualified candidates, please submit a letter of interest and PDF resume to hr@gallagherdesign.com.
