Company Introduction: G&C Food Distributors is a leading re-distributor of refrigerated, frozen, and dry food. Our sole distribution center is currently in Syracuse, NY, but we are expanding with another facility coming soon. We store and deliver more than 4,000 food items to meet the needs of our customers across 27 states and 28 states internationally.

In recent years, G&C Foods has grown to be one of the most respected redistributors in the United States, and we are rapidly expanding all areas of our organization. As part of this growth, we are looking to add a Loader to our Shipping Team to support our continued success.

Location: Alachua, FL

Schedule: Sunday 10 am start, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 1 pm start time

Job Summary:

As a Loader, your primary responsibility is to load goods efficiently and safely onto trucks for delivery to customers by manually lifting and moving product cases using a variety of equipment and at different temperatures. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that products are properly handled, sorted, and loaded according to shipping schedules and quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform safe and efficient operation of a pallet jack, double pallet jack, and forklift.
• Perform an inventory of all products and pallets to assure accuracy.
• Accurately load and scan palletized products onto trucks in order of driver stops.
• Responsible for organizing electric jacks and keeping them plugged in for driver use.
• Make sure that all safety measures are followed to secure the load.
• General clean-up of the dock when needed, assist with the truck cleaning, sweeping & organization of the area.
• Assist in other department areas as needed.
• Operation of a powered industrial truck (PIT)
• Additional duties as assigned.

Experience and Education Required:

• 6 months of warehouse experience in the food service distribution industry or related industry required 2-3 years preferred.
• 6 months of order selection and warehouse experience in the food service distribution industry required 2-3 years preferred.
• 6 months of safe operation of an electric pallet jack.
• Basic math and analytical skills.
• Valid certification to operate forklift and Pallet Jack.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
